Island Brac – Croatia cycling tour starts from Red adventures office In Split down-town. There our guides will give you a detailed briefing about the day ahead of you. Ferry ride to Brac and adventure can start!
Supetar is first on our list. After exploring this lovely peaceful town we will continue with a coastal ride to Sutivan. With its renaissance palaces, Baroque-style summer mansions and typical Dalmatian stone houses this place is simply irresistible. However, we need to continue with a climb to Lozisca, the beautiful old village provides a great photo opportunity with dominant Parish Church of St. John and Paul in the background.
Climb continues to Nerezisca, picturesque little place that for a long time was an administrative and business centre of the island where the dukes of Brac kept court. Thereupon special attraction is on beautiful Church of Our Lady of Carmel and church of Peter and Paul that has a pine tree grooving from the roof – Brac bonsai tree! Moreover, small plebeian stone houses, narrow little streets and small squares add to the charm and ambience of this Dalmatian village.
We descent to the oldest settlement on the island, Skrip. Prehistoric town walls, several sarcophagi, reliefs and medieval graves are an evidence of the long island history. Brac museum is to be visited.
We finish the tour passing by Splitska bay, small idyllic village, which in time of Diocletian was used as a port for loading, one of the most famous products of Brac – white stone!
During the tour, you will have time for a lunch break. We will recommend Konobas (Taverns) where you can taste some of the local dishes such as Vitalac (traditionally prepared lamb), delicious Hrapocusa (cake made just on Brac) or some of amazing Plavac mali red vine!
Ones wishing for more demanding tour can book option: Difficulty – hard. Demanding uphill on Vidova Gora, the highest peak of all Croatian island will surely reward your effort with stunning views. Moreover, Postira and Dol will spice up the adventure for all of you cycling gourmets by visiting one of the old Konobas!
